Halal Love Story
Halal Love Story, streaming on Amazon Prime, is the second directorial feature from Zakaria. His debut titled “Sudani from Nigeria” is available on Netflix to watch. Like his first feature film, this one too tells a simple and endearing story. The movie tells the story of a group of people trying to bring their vision alive, and you can view it in two ways. The first would be to be like a regular moviegoer who is looking for entertainment. The second would be an avid movie buff who goes to see a movie within a movie. In this regard, there is even an homage to one of the greatest films, Cinema Paradiso.
Both Zakaria and Mushin Parari shares the credits as the writers. In fact, they have continued their association after the success of “Sudani from Nigeria.” Like the previous movie, the writers rely on situations and not villains to place their characters in a dilemma. As a viewer, we are hooked to find out how they will come out of the problem. One of the most significant points of this duo is to give us a layered message in dialogue that sounds very uncomplicated. There are many instances of these sprinkled throughout the movie.
